Howden India has appointed Deepti Sharma as executive vice president, growth leader – sales, the broker announced on Monday.

Based in Bengaluru, Sharma brings over 18 years of professional experience, including nearly a decade in the insurance sector. An entrepreneur-turned-insurance expert, she has a strong background in sales leadership.

She joins Howden after a four-year stint at Prudent Insurance Brokers Pvt Ltd, where she most recently served as vice president for sales.

An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore, Sharma began her career as a periodontist and oral implantologist. In 2013, she established and managed a chain of multi-speciality dental clinics.

She later transitioned into the corporate healthcare and insurance space, joining MediBuddy as senior sales manager before being promoted to assistant vice president.

“Deepti is known for her people-centric approach, with a focus on strengthening client relationships and driving meaningful engagement,” Howden said in a LinkedIn post announcing the appointment.

Sharma’s appointment comes amid a series of senior hires by Howden in India. Last week, the broker named Bhushan Raorane as executive vice president for property and risk management. Earlier, it appointed Ramprasad (Ram) KS as executive vice president and growth leader – sales, India.

In March, Howden reorganised its regional broking operations, folding its India business into the Asia region as part of a wider move to integrate its International Growth Markets division, led by Sonia Caamaño since 2023, into the firm’s core regional structures and bring its capabilities closer to clients.
