Michael Herron has joined Howden Insurance Brokers Australia as Head of Specialty, the company announced in a LinkedIn update today.
Based in Sydney, Herron began his new role last week after more than eight years at Gallagher, where he served most recently as Managing Director for Specialisms. He brings a wealth of experience from both the insurance and legal sectors, having held leadership roles at major brokers and insurers.
Commenting on his appointment, Matt Bacon, CEO of Howden Pacific, said, “With extensive expertise across the specialty spectrum, we are excited about the value that Mike will bring to our business, our clients and our continued growth.”
Before his tenure at Gallagher, Herron spent over four years at XL Catlin and close to eight years at AIG.
On his decision to join Howden, he said, “I could see what was happening at Howden and I wanted to be part of it. Their people first specialty focus drew me in as I could see they really lived and breathed it.”
