Great Eastern General Insurance Malaysia has appointed Jeremy Yeap as Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 February 2025, the company announced via LinkedIn. Yeap succeeded Ng Kok Kheng, who retired after serving as CEO for 17 years.
Yeap brings over 25 years of experience working within distribution channels in the general insurance industry. Prior to Great Eastern, he spent 12 years in senior executive management positions at Generali Insurance Malaysia and AXA Affin General Insurance Malaysia.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and an associate’s degree in general insurance from the Asian Institute of Insurance. He is also a Chartered Insurer and Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII).
Yeap shared his enthusiasm for the role, commenting, “I am deeply honoured and humbled to be given the opportunity to lead GEGM into its next phase of growth and to serve the needs of our valued customers.”
Reflected on his retirement, Ng said, “It has been a truly rewarding and fulfilling journey. I am grateful for the wise counsel of the Board and consistent support from my colleagues throughout my years with GEGM.” He also expressed his confidence in Yeap’s appointment, adding, “I am confident [Great Eastern General Insurance Malaysia] will continue to do well under Jeremy’s leadership.”
