Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) on Monday officially announced the appointment of Jess Au as Head of General Property for its Asia operations. She takes over from Ophelia Szeto, who will vacate the role after nearly a decade with the company.
Singapore-based Au and has nearly two decades of experience in the Asian insurance industry, including time at Swiss Re, Asia Capital Re, Allied Word, and XL Catlin.
Marc Breuil, Regional President, Asia Middle East at BHSI, commented on the new appointment, “Jess takes the reins of our general property portfolio with more than 20 years of experience in Asia. I look forward to working with her as we continue to build and expand BHSI’s long-term relationships in the region.”
Breuil also took the time to pay tribute to the outgoing Szeto: “I also want to thank Ophelia for her work and her dedication in establishing our commercial property presence in Asia and we wish her success in her next endeavours.”
