Speciality (re)insurer Chaucer on Thursday announced it had appointed Jonathan Ng as Class Underwriter for Political Risk in Singapore.

Singapore-based Ng joins after two years at AXA XL, where he specialised in political risk underwriting within Catlin’s Lloyd’s syndicate, focusing on development and commercial banks.

He reports to Jamie Taylor, Class Underwriter at Chaucer.

“We’re delighted to welcome Jonathan to our Singapore team,” said Margaret To, CEO of Chaucer Singapore, commented. “His extensive industry knowledge and proven track record in political risk underwriting will be invaluable as we continue to solidify Chaucer’s position as a market leader,” To added.

Ng began his insurance career as an intern at QBE Insurance before joining Talbot Risk Services, where he worked from 2015 to 2022. He also held the position of chairman of the political risk and credit committee at the Lloyd’s Development Group.
