Everest Insurance has announced a strategic expansion of its senior leadership team in Asia through the appointment of two key executives.
Tomi Latva-Kiskola is set to join the company as Head of Insurance, Asia, starting on February 5, 2024. He will report to Scott Leney, Head of Asia Pacific at Everest.
Latva-Kiskola has a distinguished track record in the insurance industry and joins Everest from AIG where he spent 16 years, most recently as President & CEO of AIG Hong Kong.
Scott Leney remarked on the appointment, “Tomi is a highly respected leader and operator who brings significant regional experience along with a deep network of long-standing relationships spanning multiple markets.”
Concurrently Everest announced that Swee Keong Mah — who has been serving as the Interim Regional Head of Insurance, Asia, and Head of Legal, Asia Pacific — has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Everest Singapore, reporting to Latva-Kiskola.
Mah joined Everest in 2022 and has been instrumental in establishing the firm’s Singapore division, bringing to the table his experience from previous senior legal roles, including at Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance.
On Mah’s, Leney commented, “I want to congratulate Swee Keong on his well-deserved appointment to CEO in Singapore. Swee Keong’s leadership and contributions during this transition have been outstanding and under his direction, I am confident in our ability to become a preferred market leader in Asia.”
