MLC Life Insurance has announced the appointment of Mirella Robinson to the newly established position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO), effective 26 February.
She brings over two decades of experience in technology leadership across several sectors, including financial services, telecommunications, media, and retail energy.
Prior to joining MLC Life Insurance, she held the position of Chief Information and Technology Officer at Cbus, where she played a pivotal role in evolving the organisation’s Technology and Data Strategy. Her tenure at Cbus was marked by the successful implementation of machine learning and AI practices, as well as the completion of two fund mergers and complex system integrations.
Kent Griffin, Chief Executive Officer of MLC Life Insurance, expressed his enthusiasm for Robinson’s appointment, highlighting her extensive background and achievements. “Given the importance of technology in delivering our strategy that puts the customer at the centre of what we do, I’m excited to draw from Mirella’s impressive experience as we create this crucial role,” Griffin stated.
Robinson shared her vision for her new role, emphasising the importance of customer experience and system accessibility: “Throughout my career, I’ve focused on solving problems to help people,” she said. “Making sure customers are able to enjoy a great experience by accessing safe and simple systems is integral to the work of a CTO.”
The introduction of the CTO role is part of MLC Life Insurance’s broader efforts to enhance its technological capabilities and systems, to improve the experience for advisers, customers, superannuation funds, trustees, and members.
