Oneglobal Broking has acquired the digital asset client portfolio of Hong Kong-based Fraction Brokers Asia and moved it to its licensed entity in Hong Kong, the broker announced on Monday.
As part of the deal, Oneglobal has set up a Digital Asset division led by Dan Dibden, who joins as chief commercial officer for digital assets in Hong Kong, alongside Onno Sterk as head of digital assets.
Fraction Brokers places a specie insurance programme of more than US$1bn, which Oneglobal describes as the largest in the world, with a current portfolio size of US$1.175bn. The firm provides risk transfer to digital asset companies and to businesses exposed to digital assets, including asset managers, hedge funds and money service providers.
Oneglobal already offers some digital asset cover in markets outside Asia. The deal gives it access to a new client segment, including digital asset exchanges and custodians, crypto protocols and foundations, and digital asset treasuries.
Roger Spicer, group CEO of Oneglobal Broking, said: “This acquisition presents a unique opportunity for Oneglobal to expand our capabilities in an emerging product segment at a time when digital assets, while still an emerging part of the financial services industry, continue to grow rapidly. Bringing the Fraction Brokers team and their digital asset expertise into Oneglobal is a defining step in our global growth strategy and a clear signal of our commitment to the sector.”
Dibden said: “Almost every client segment will be exposed to digital assets in some form over time, most likely beginning with stablecoins, and through this acquisition, our clients gain immediate access to proven knowledge and experience in managing digital asset exposure and risk. Hong Kong has a stated policy goal to support the orderly development of regulated virtual asset markets, including the issuance of HKD stablecoins. We are excited to combine that local momentum with Oneglobal’s global reach.”
Fraction Brokers operates globally, with a focus on Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. Its operating entity was incorporated in 2012. It set up its digital asset business in August 2025 and took the Fraction Brokers name at that point.
Dibden co-founded Fraction Brokers Asia. Before that, he spent more than four years as co-founder and managing partner of Capstone Insurance Brokers. He has more than 17 years of insurance experience across broking, underwriting, managing general agencies, business development and leadership roles in the UK and Asia, including roles with Nexus Group, Cooper Gay & Co, Beazley, Barbican Insurance Group and Randall & Quilter.
Sirikit Oh, CEO for Asia at Oneglobal, said: “Dan has a proven track record of building businesses, developing strategic partnerships and driving growth. We are excited about the contribution he will make as we continue to strengthen our commercial capabilities and expand our presence across the region.”
The deal follows a separate leadership move in Singapore, where Oneglobal named Fabien Goutoulli as chief executive officer.
