QBE has appointed Jonathan Groves as CEO and Managing Director for New Zealand and Pacific (NZPAC), the insurer announced in a company statement on LinkedIn.

Groves has been working at QBE Group since 2013 across a number of senior roles, including most recently as Chief Risk Officer, a position he has held since December 2018.

In his new role, Groves takes on responsibility for the strategic direction and operational management of QBE’s New Zealand and Pacific business.

He first joined QBE Group in 2013 as Chief Risk Officer at QBE Equator Re, based in Bermuda. In 2017, he relocated to Sydney to assume the role of Group Head of Risk and was subsequently appointed Chief Risk Officer at the end of 2018.

Prior to joining QBE, Groves developed his industry experience across a number of businesses, including AIG, Marsh, ACE, and Aon.
