Generali on Tuesday announced the appointment of Rebecca Tan as President, Director, and Chief of Generali Indonesia (PT Asuransi Jiwa Generali).
Tan has been with Generali since 2019 and takes up the new position having served most recently at Generali Life Insurance Malaysia, where she was Chief Executive Officer.
She brings 30 years of industry experience across life and general insurance, distribution, customer experience management, and marketing. In her new role, she reports to Rob Leonardi, Regional Officer for Asia.
Alongside Tan’s new role, the business also announced other key appointments, with Soon Chin named as Director and Chief Financial Officer and Amit Vakil as Director and Chief Agency Officer.
Chin returned to Generali in 2021 and has held roles as Chief Actuary at Generali Indonesia and Chief Financial Officer at Generali Vietnam Life. Vakil, meanwhile, was promoted from his position as Agency Group Head for Generali Indonesia, having previously served in leadership roles at Future Generali India Life Insurance since 2016.
Generali on Monday also announced the appointment of Soo Wai Har as Chief Executive Officer of Generali Life Insurance. Speaking on the appointments of Tan and Soo in their new CEO roles, Leonardi said that both “bring a deep wealth of expertise to their teams which will be invaluable to our ambitions in the region.”
“With their proven experience and under their outstanding leadership, we are confident that Rebecca and Wai Har will drive sustainable business growth and expand our presence in Indonesia and Malaysia respectively,” Leonardi added.
