The Singapore Reinsurers’ Association (SRA) has announced Jeslyn Tan as its new Executive Director, as of September 4th 2023.
Tan takes over from Jeffrey Yeo, who started as SRA’s first Executive Director in 2015 and will retire at the end of the year.
Tan brings extensive industry experience to her new role. She has over 20 years in the sector, leading consulting, distribution, and market management roles at firms including AIG, Chubb, and most recently Crawford & Co. She also served as President of the Singapore Insurance Institute, a non-profit organisation, from 2020 to 2023.
SRA Chair, Marc Haushofer, expressed confidence in the new appointment, commenting, “With her broad experience and passion for promoting professionalism in the industry, I believe Jeslyn is well-suited to lead SRA’s continued development, transformation, and innovation.”
The SRA also commended the retiring Yeo for his significant contribution over the last nine years. They noted he joined during a crucial period and has been instrumental in growing the Association, including helping to solidify the annual Singapore International Reinsurance Conference (SIRC) as the leading reinsurance event in Asia.
Tan will work closely with Yeo in the coming months to ensure a seamless transition with both reporting directly to Haushofer to ensure a smooth transition.
SRA’s 19th SIRC will take place at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Singapore, from October 30th to November 2nd 2023.
