Lee Murphy has been appointed as Sompo’s Chief Human Resources Officer for Asia Pacific, effective 15 April, according to a LinkedIn announcement.

Murphy succeeds Shinichi Hashimoto, who has transitioned to a new role within the company as Head of HR at Sompo Risk Management in Tokyo, the business said in its announcement.

In his new position, Murphy will report to Joy McCune, Chief Human Resources Officer, with a matrix reporting line to Kenneth Reilly, CEO of Insurance, Asia Pacific.

Murphy will bring extensive experience to the role, having previously served as Group Chief Human Resources Officer at FWD for three years and has also held positions at global tech giants Google and Microsoft.
