Sompo Asia Pacific has promoted Jun Zhe Ng to Chief Consumer Officer of its Singapore business, effective immediately, the insurer announced on LinkedIn on Thursday, 10 July.
Ng first joined the business in Singapore in 2018 and had been serving as Chief Actuary and Head of Strategy before his promotion.
In his new role, he reports to Pui Phusangmook, CEO of Sompo Singapore, and Bill Zhang, President of Consumer Lines for APAC, and is tasked with driving the profitability and sustainable growth of the business’s consumer lines.
“With his local market and industry knowledge, he will work closely with the Asia Pacific Consumer team to oversee and execute the region’s strategic plans, as well as develop capabilities in the Singapore team,” Sompo added.
Ng is the latest in a series of key leadership hires for Sompo in the region, including the announcement of Alasdair Walker as Hong Kong CEO last month. Earlier today, Sompo also announced the appointment of Jin Sheng Ooi as Head of A&H Pricing for APAC.
