Sompo Asia Pacific has appointed David Chau as Senior Vice President and Head of Project Management Office (PMO) for APAC, according to a LinkedIn announcement on Tuesday.
Based in Singapore, Chau joins Sompo from UnderwriteMe, where he spent over two years as Client Success Project Manager. He will report to Dongyoung Maya Lee, Sompo’s Chief Operating Officer for the region.
Chau has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance and finance industry, including over four years as Regional Implementation Lead at Willis Towers Watson.
In his new role, he will lead the newly established regional PMO and oversee strategic project delivery across APAC. He will also be responsible for building the foundational framework, governance, and processes for the PMO, while working closely with senior leadership and local teams to manage risks and support change initiatives.
The appointment follows another recent leadership announcement at Sompo, with Wei Beng Toh named Assistant Vice President, Operational Excellence, Asia Pacific, earlier this month.
