Sompo has appointed Sherlyn Kok Meili as Vice President, Head of Compliance for Asia Pacific, the company announced on LinkedIn.
Singapore-based Meili joins after nearly 3 years with JPMorganChase and reports to Todd Corey, General Counsel for Asia Pacific, in her new role.
She will work closely with the business’s regional compliance, legal, internal audit, risk and business teams to “proactively identify and mitigate compliance and regulatory risks, while monitoring the effectiveness of existing compliance controls, policies, and procedures within the region,” Sompo said in its announcement.
She brings to the role extensive experience in senior compliance roles in both financial institutions and the insurance industry, including time at China Taiping, Allianz Asia Pacific, and Great Eastern.
