Specialist Risk Group (SRG) has appointed Zong Wen Lee to head its principal, credit & political risk division in Asia, effective 6 July, the broker announced on Monday.
Lee was most recently an associate director at WTW, where he worked for over three years. He brings over 15 years of industry experience. Earlier in his career, he also held positions at firms including Standard Chartered Bank, Markel International, Coface, and Jardine Lloyd Thompson.
In his new role, Lee brings market expertise and experience in advising banks, funds, and corporates on complex structured and trade finance transactions.
He joins the insurance broker’s Singapore team following the launch of its London-based team led by John Lentaigne, Ed Nicholson and Matt Solley.
“The combination of John, Ed and Matt’s powerhouse in London, and the coordinated arrival of Zong Wen in Singapore for Asia, positions us at the forefront of the Credit & Political Risk space,” said Collin Yap, CEO Asia Pacific, saying that Lee’s blend of broking and underwriting experience makes him a valuable addition to SRG’s advisory and placement capabilities.
The appointment follows SRG’s promotion of Halim Rosalan to partner and head of business, Asia, who will work alongside Yap on regional strategy while overseeing business development.
