Specialist Risk Group (SRG) has promoted Joanna Goh to the expanded role of partner, head of strategy and growth, Asia, effective 1 September, the firm announced on Monday.
Goh joined the broker in January this year as principal for facultative reinsurance in Asia. Before joining the firm, she spent nearly seven years at Marsh Asia, most recently serving as lead for corporate risk services in Singapore. She also worked at JLT Asia earlier in her career.
Apart from overseeing SRG’s regional strategy and growth initiatives, Goh will also be in charge of the company’s Portfolio Solutions operations as part of her expanded remit. She will report directly to Collin Yap, chief executive officer for Asia Pacific.
She will also work with Christine Chua, director of transformation delivery for Asia, and Halim Rosalan, head of business for Asia, to connect the group’s business and platform capabilities with its go-to-market strategy, SRG said.
“This appointment reflects Joanna’s extensive industry experience, strong strategic lens, and proven track record of driving growth and innovation across complex markets in Southeast Asia and the Greater China region,” SRG said in its announcement.
Goh’s appointment follows other leadership changes announced by the company this year, including the appointments of Richard Gurney as head of specialty and Zong Wen Lee as principal, credit & political risk, Asia, as well as the promotion of Halim Rosalan to partner and head of business, Asia.
The announcement also follows SRG’s recent acquisition of Superian Insurance last month, in its efforts to expand its presence in APAC and the Middle East.
