Starr has designated Vivian Xiao as its new head of financial lines for China, the specialty insurer announced on LinkedIn on Wednesday.

Xiao brings 17 years of underwriting experience and a strong background in financial lines to her new role.

“Vivian’s leadership will help strengthen and accelerate Starr’s presence in financial lines across China,” Starr said.

Xiao’s designation follows Danielle An’s appointment as the specialty insurer’s new head of financial lines for Singapore and wholesale business for Asia, announced last Monday. It also comes after global Starr insurance units, including those in Asia, China, and Singapore, received an outlook upgrade from AM Best last month.
