Starr Insurance has appointed Celia Wong as Head of Financial Lines, Hong Kong, the company announced on LinkedIn on Thursday.

Wong joins the specialty insurer after nearly 15 years with Zurich. Before that, she gained industry experience at QBE and BOCG Insurance.

“She has a distinguished career underwriting financial lines in the region with over 25 years’ experience,” Starr said in its announcement.

The move is the latest by Starr in the region. In October, the company announced it had gained approval to open in India’s GIFT City, with Raviganesh Madhavan named as principal officer for the new branch.

Last month, the business also announced that it would acquire Lloyd’s speciality underwriter IQUW, which has a presence in Australia, positioning Starr as the ninth-largest managing agency at Lloyd’s.
