Transamerica Life Bermuda has launched an Indexed Universal Life (IUL) product for professional investors in Hong Kong, joining the first group of insurers to offer IUL solutions under the city’s updated regulatory framework.
The company said Opus One is intended for high-net-worth clients seeking wealth growth instruments with legacy protection and succession planning features. It includes a volatility-controlled VC Uncapped Index Account and offers options for protection and liquidity.
Kristine Ung, Chief Executive Officer of Transamerica Life Bermuda, said the company is investing in talent and capabilities to deliver solutions across its key markets. “Opus One is another example of how we’re bringing that vision to life,” she said.
Brandon Szeto said the product is designed to meet evolving client needs, adding that it aims to help customers “grow and preserve their wealth with confidence.”
The product launch also coincides with the appointment of Brandon Szeto as Chief Commercial Officer.
This new offering is among other IUL products launched by insurers in Hong Kong, including HSBC and YF Life, following the regulators’ easing of certain regulatory requirements for IUL products sold to professional investors back in March.
