Willis Towers Watson (WTW) has appointed Thara Ing as a senior associate in its regional mergers and acquisitions team (M&A) in Asia, the broker announced in a LinkedIn post on Monday.
Based in Singapore, Ing joins from Baker McKenzie Wong & Leow, where she spent more than five years advising on complex cross-border M&A and private equity transactions across Asia.
Ing brings extensive experience across both buy-side and sell-side transactions, as well as expertise in coordinating multi-jurisdictional deal teams and managing transactions, WTW said.
“Thara’s experience is directly relevant to our warranty and indemnity insurance advisory work,” WTW said. “Her addition supports our continued focus on building depth in our transactional risk capabilities across the region.”
The appointment follows WTW’s recent hire of Chintan Aashwini as a director in its regional M&A team, highlighting the broker’s continued investment in transactional risk capabilities.
The move comes amid heightened competition for specialist talent in Asia’s M&A insurance market. Brokers have increasingly sought to deepen their benches as deal structures become more complex and demand for transactional risk solutions grows.
Rival broker Howden has also been expanding aggressively in the space, recruiting several senior M&A specialists from Aon in recent months, including former Aon Asia head of M&A and transaction solutions Xianwei Lee.
The region’s transactional risk landscape is evolving, with increased adoption and more complex loss patterns, according to Marsh. Claims notifications rose 76% year-on-year to 44 in 2025, led by Japan and India, highlighting growing activity and risk complexity across Asia Pacific.
