Sompo Hong Kong has appointed Alan Lang as Head of Operations, effective 24 November 2025, according to an announcement by the business on LinkedIn on Monday.
Lang joins from bolttech and, in his new role, will report to Dongyoung Maya Lee Lee, Sompo APAC Chief Operating Officer, with a matrix reporting line to Alasdair Walker, Sompo HK’s Chief Executive Officer.
He brings over 10 years of experience to lead Sompo’s Hong Kong operations and policy administration team across key initiatives, including operational transformation for scalability and agility, process improvement, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
“His proven ability to deliver impactful change and optimise operations will be instrumental in shaping our Hong Kong operations in alignment with the regional strategy,” Sompo said in its announcement.
Sompo’s latest move comes amid a flurry of activity in the Asia‑Pacific region over the past month. In late October, the insurer named Leo Jun Liu Chief Consumer Officer for China and separately appointed Linda Ng as Head of Property & Multi-Lines in Singapore.
Earlier in November, Sompo announced it had entered a strategic agreement to expand its International Private Medical Insurance (IPMI) offerings through a partnership with APRIL International, following the insurer’s recent expansion of its parametric travel delay product to Singapore, China, and Malaysia.
