The National Reinsurance Corporation of the Philippines (Nat Re) has promoted Jaime Jose Javier to executive vice president (EVP) and chief operating officer (COO) and Von Edward Ebron to vice president and head of life Reinsurance and data administration, the company announced on LinkedIn on Wednesday.
Since joining Nat Re in 2021, Javier has played a vital role in growing the life reinsurance business, delivering significant increases in gross written premiums and underwriting income, the reinsurer said. He has also strengthened partnerships and expanded Nat Re business into the medical sector and foreign markets. He was the company’s senior vice president, life reinsurance head before becoming EVP and COO.
In his new role, Javier will provide leadership to both life and non-life underwriting units, administration, technology, finance, and project management.
He brings over 25 years of experience in the insurance and financial services industry in the Philippines and Indonesia, having held senior management roles across life and health insurance companies with deep expertise in sales, marketing, finance, and operations.
Meanwhile, Ebron, who joined Nat Re in 2018, has been key to the company’s development and launch of innovative insurance products, establishing new distribution channels, and consistently driving strong business growth. Before his promotion, he served as senior assistant vice president, life treaty officer.
Ebron brings over 20 years of experience in the Philippine insurance and reinsurance industry, spanning actuarial analysis, product development, strategic marketing, project management, corporate sales, and operations management. Throughout his career, he has held key leadership roles in product management, strategic marketing, business development, and corporate sales.
