Chubb Singapore has named Cherry Gao as head of major accounts and global broking effective 19 January, the insurer announced on LinkedIn on Thursday.

Gao has 20 years of experience in the insurance industry and joins after nearly 10 years with Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI), across Hong Kong and, more recently, Singapore.

She brings to her new role a background in underwriting, broker engagement, as well as experience in complex risk solutions across both regional and multinational markets. Prior to BHSI, she has worked at AIG, Chartis, and Aon.

“Her deep expertise and strategic leadership will further strengthen our ability to deliver tailored solutions and exceptional service to our major account clients and broker partners,” the company said. “We are confident that under her leadership, our major accounts will continue to deliver disciplined growth, deepen client, and broker partnerships.”

Her appointment follows a key personnel change in the region, with the business in mid-December announcing it has tapped Chris Colahan as its new head of commercial P&C operations in Asia Pacific. On the life side, the business earlier this week announced that Khanh Bui had returned to the company as chief finance and business development officer for Southeast Asia.
