Lloyd’s has announced the promotion of Emma Loynes to CEO of Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and Africa (APMEA).

She succeeds Chris Mackinnon, who is set to leave the business to lead Munich Re Specialty’s push into the Australian market, a move announced by the German reinsurer in November last year.

Loynes has spent nearly eight years at Lloyd’s and has served as Asia CEO and Lloyd’s country manager for Singapore since July 2023. She maintains her responsibilities in Singapore alongside her broader remit.

“I am pleased to confirm Emma Loynes has been appointed CEO of Lloyd’s APMEA,” Dawn Miller, chief commercial officer and CEO of Lloyd’s Americas, said in a statement. “Emma brings strong skills and deep know-how, and I am sure the region will keep on thriving under her leadership.”

Miller also thanked the departing Mackinnon for his time at the business: “I would like to thank Chris for his leadership and skill over the last decade and wish him well for his next chapter.”
