Canopius Group has designated Namrata Soni as energy and construction underwriter under the natural resources team effective immediately, the business announced on Monday.
Sydney-based Soni joins from Chubb, where she most recently served as a senior underwriter specialising in construction, energy, and power generation. She has more than 14 years of industry experience, including time at QBE, Zurich, and Fullerton Health.
In her new role, she reports to Andrew Ziolkowski, country head of Australia and New Zealand (ANZ).
“Namrata’s appointment further strengthens our presence in the Australian market and reinforces our commitment to delivering specialist underwriting expertise across the full energy and construction spectrum,” Ziolkowski said. “Her experience and reputation in the region will be invaluable as we continue to grow and support our clients with tailored, high-quality solutions.”
Soni’s appointment follows Tesh Patel’s designation as head of distribution for ANZ last month.
