Ansvar Insurance has appointed Jason Hammond as chief executive officer, effective 10 March, succeeding outgoing CEO Warren Hutcheon, according to a media release dated 24 February.
Hammond joins the Australian specialist commercial insurer with more than 25 years of industry experience, bringing “deep capability in commercial insurance and broker distribution, together with a strong alignment with Ansvar’s values,” the business said.
He previously held senior leadership roles at QBE Insurance, where he worked for 20 years, including as CEO for Asia between 2019 and 2024. His previous experience also includes time at Allianz and GIO Workers Compensation.
”The Board is delighted to welcome Jason Hammond to Ansvar,” chair Helen Thornton commented. “Ansvar exists to support organisations that protect vulnerable people and communities, and Jason brings a clear commitment to that mission.”
Ansvar’s board also paid tribute to Hutcheon, who is retiring after 12 years in the role, citing his contribution to strengthening Ansvar’s position in its specialist commercial lines and partnerships.
