Price Forbes Singapore has named Rajiv Ramakrishnan as Head of Accident & Health (A&H), effective immediately, the specialty broker announced on Thursday.

He joins after nearly a decade with Liberty Insurance, where he most recently served as Vice President, A&H insurance products, based in Thailand.

In his new role, Ramakrishnan reports to Dick Heath, head of reinsurance and wholesale, and is tasked with developing Price Forbes’ A&H offering in Southeast Asia and the wider Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

His remit includes helping cedants address coverage gaps in their A&H portfolios and supporting carriers to launch new primary products in areas such as critical illness, lump-sum, and travel, Price Forbes said.

“Rajiv’s appointment marks the next step in our ambition to build a comprehensive specialty offering for clients across APAC,” said Philip Johnson, CEO for Asia Pacific. “A&H is a space where we have identified enormous opportunity due to significant structural growth and unmet demand, and Rajiv’s depth of experience across this sector means we are positioned to pursue this opportunity with confidence.”

Ramakrishnan’s appointment comes amid Price Forbes’ wider buildout in Asia Pac, including the launch of a new treaty team in March with four senior hires—Bruce Ford, Goh Thian Leong, Mark Foster, and Florence Lam Puoy Yin—as well naming Dick Heath as head of reinsurance and wholesale, Singapore in January.
