ICICI Prudential Life Insurance has appointed Amish Banker as chief distribution officer, effective April 14, the company announced in an exchange filing.
Banker has been with the insurer for 25 years, most recently serving as chief operations officer, overseeing retail and group operations, customer service, underwriting, claims and shared services. He previously held leadership roles at ICICI Prudential across multiple functions, giving him broad experience throughout the customer life cycle and internal processes.
Prior to joining the insurer, he worked as an assistant manager at Global Trust Bank in Mumbai.
The appointment caps a financial year in which ICICI Prudential Life grew its value of new business (VNB) 10.9% to 26.3bn rupees (US$281.8m) for the year ended March 31, 2026, according to its annual report. The insurer also saw its VNB margin expand by 190 basis points to 24.7%.
