QBE has tapped Johnny Suen as Head of Property, Hong Kong, effective 26 May 2026, the insurer announced on LinkedIn.
He joins from Dah Sing Insurance, where he was chief underwriting officer and spent nearly five years. His previous experience includes time at AXA XL, Allied World, and Zurich.
In his new role, Suen will lead QBE’s property underwriting business in Hong Kong, while overseeing property risks across Macau and Taiwan, as well as wholesale business for mainland China.
“He brings deep technical expertise, strong market insight, and a proven track record in navigating complex property risks across different market cycles,” QBE said.
His appointment comes after a series of leadership moves by QBE across Asia this year, including Carles Tondo, who was named head of property for the region in February, Mandy Chan as head of operational power generation and ESG, and, on the reinsurance side, Soichiro Tanaka to the newly created head of Southeast Asia role for QBE Re.
