Coface has promoted Jason Tan to head of commercial for Malaysia, the trade credit insurer announced on Wednesday (2 September).

Tan first joined Coface in January 2021 and most recently ran commercial operations and marketing for Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, a post he has held since December 2023.

Before Coface, he held roles at Funding Societies Malaysia, RHB Banking Group and Danajamin Nasional Berhad, covering credit risk, corporate banking and risk management.

“Jason brings valuable market expertise and a strong client-focused approach,” Coface said in its announcement. “His strong understanding of the business landscape will help support Coface Malaysia’s continued growth and strengthen our relationships with clients and partners.”

The appointment follows Darren Chan’s move to country manager for Malaysia and head of the Philippines on 1 April, and James Yau’s return as head of commercial for Southeast Asia and head of mid-market for Asia-Pacific on 5 June. Coface also named Antoine Pachoud head of commercial for Japan on 1 September.
