Talbot Underwriting has appointed Joanne (Jeongyeon) Shim as an underwriter in its crisis management team in Singapore, the managing general agent said on Wednesday.

She joins Talbot from South Korean broker LK Insurance Services, where she held underwriting tasks across multiple lines. In Singapore, she will focus on product recall underwriting.

Shim has nearly five years of experience across retail and reinsurance broking, including work supporting client programmes, claims and multinational business.

The appointment follows a series of underwriting hires and promotions at Talbot in Singapore. In April, the Lloyd’s-backed MGA promoted Jiewei Pang to senior property underwriter and Russell Giam to political risk underwriter. In March, it appointed Grace Yap as property underwriter.

Part of AIG, Talbot writes across more than 20 specialty lines, including property, marine, aviation and political risk. The MGA is headquartered in London, with offices in New York and Singapore and more than 300 employees across the three locations.
