Allianz Commercial on Wednesday announced Rich Soja’s appointment as its new Global Head of Marine, effective immediately.
Soja, who joined Allianz Commercial in 2017, will report to Gordon Browne, Global Head of Specialty, the company said in its announcement. He will also maintain his current responsibilities as Head of Inland Marine and Regional Head of Marine North America until a successor is appointed.
Soja brings over 35 years of experience in the marine insurance industry, serving in senior underwriting positions at Chubb, Aspen Insurance, and Tokio Marine prior to joining Allianz Commercial.
His strategic appointment follows Ulrich Kadow’s transition to Global Head of Product Management and Underwriting Transformation at Allianz Commercial in December 2023.
Browne commented on the appointment, saying, “I am absolutely delighted to have Rich joining the leadership team for this key position. With his extensive knowledge of both our business and the Marine sector, he is perfectly placed to build on the excellent foundations that Ulrich Kadow established with the team and lead our Marine business in the future.”
