Sompo has expanded its Asia Pacific (APAC) Commercial Lines team with the appointments, Kelly Koh, Victoria Soo, and Ophelia Szeto to key underwriting roles, the company announced in a statement on LinkedIn
Kelly Koh has been appointed Vice President, Financial Institutions, and Senior Underwriter, Financial Lines, APAC. In her new role, she will play a key role in strengthening Sompo’s offerings for financial institutions, particularly in risk management and underwriting. She brings over 20 years of experience, with expertise in financial lines insurance,
Victoria Soo joins Sompo as Senior Underwriter, Political and Financial Risk, APAC. She moves from Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) Asia Pacific, where she worked for over a year as Vice President. Her new role at Sompo will involve contributing to expanding Sompo’s capabilities in political and financial risk underwriting across the region.
Ophelia Szeto takes on the role of Vice President, Property, and Senior Underwriter, APAC. In her new role, she will support the company’s regional growth ambitions from her base in Hong Kong. Szeto has 40 years of experience in the (re)insurance industry, which she gained from working across retail and wholesale property insurance in APAC. She has previously worked for notable companies in the region, such as Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance and AIG Asia Pacific.
Sompo Thailand also announced the appointment of Rintarn Tantikunakornrat as Chief Human Resources Officer. With this appointment, Tantikunakornrat also joins Sompo’s APAC HR Leadership team.
