SCOR P&C has appointed Vikas Mahajan as Head of Agriculture, effective 1 May, succeeding René Kunz, who will retire later this year. Kunz will remain at SCOR until July to support the transition.

In his new role, Mahajan will be part of the Reinsurance Specialty Lines management team and will report directly to Eric Jenck, Head of Specialty Lines.

He joined SCOR in 2019 as a Senior Underwriter at the Singapore branch, where he was responsible for developing and managing the P&C Treaty book for Singapore and parts of South Asia. In 2023, he transitioned to the Nordics underwriting team in Cologne.

Mahajan brings to the role over two decades of international reinsurance experience, having held underwriting and broking positions across Singapore and India at J B Boda & Co., Swiss Re, and GIC Re.

Jenck shared his enthusiasm over Mahajan’s appointment, saying, “With extensive international experience and a proven track record of managing diverse markets and client bases, he brings invaluable expertise to his new role.”

Kunz’s departure marks the end of a nearly two-decade tenure at SCOR, during which he played a key role in developing the company’s agricultural reinsurance business.

Jenck expressed his gratitude for Kunz’s leadership, stating, “I would like to thank René for leading the Agriculture line with such expertise and dedication over the past 20 years, and to wish him all the very best in his well-deserved retirement. René’s key contributions have been instrumental to the success of the Agriculture team. Under his expert leadership, the team has navigated complex situations and emerged stronger.”
