AIA Australia has appointed Paula Bourke as its new chief retail insurance officer, the company said in a LinkedIn update on Monday.
Bourke is a senior insurance executive with more than 20 years of experience across life insurance, reinsurance, and the financial services industry.
She joins AIA Australia after a decade at SCOR, where she most recently served as CEO, Life & Health for Australia and New Zealand. During her tenure at the reinsurer, Bourke held many senior roles, including global head of client proposition and innovation for SCOR’s L&H business.
Before joining SCOR, she managed underwriting and claims operations at Westpac and CommInsure.
“As chief retail insurance officer, Paula will lead AIA Australia’s retail leadership team, bringing together the organisation’s retail product, pricing, distribution and retention functions,” the company said.
AIA Group saw its value of new business rise 10% year on year in the first half of 2026, to a record US$3.21bn, while operating profit after tax reached US$4.16bn. The business said it expects to exceed its target of delivering 9% to 11% compound annual growth in operating profit after tax per share between 2023 and 2026.
