Howden Specialty has promoted Leo King to Managing Director, Head of Direct Wholesale & Corporate Facultative Property – Asia Pacific, the company announced via LinkedIn.

In his new role, King will lead property placement across the region, focusing on direct wholesale and corporate facultative solutions for large and complex risks.

King has been with Howden for over 15 years, holding a series of senior positions, including Divisional Director for the Australasia Division and earlier, for the Southeast Asia Division. He relocated from London to Singapore in 2018 to support the firm’s regional expansion.

Commenting on the promotion, Peter Naylor, Global Head of International Property at Howden Specialty, said, “This promotion is a testament to the hard work and dedication Leo demonstrates every day – first from London and now in Singapore. Leo has consistently proved his ability to deliver optimal placement solutions and the highest standards of service for clients.”

The move comes as Howden expands its leadership bench across the region. In recent months, the firm named Tony Cengic Head of Surety at Howden Australia, Marut Pommalee Chief Client Officer at Howden Thailand, and Cynthia Cui Head of Asia Pacific Facultative Reinsurance at Howden Re.
