Jayaprakash Thiyagarajan has been promoted to Chief Legal Government Relations Officer of Prudential Assurance Company Singapore (PACS), effective 1 June, the business announced on Monday.

Thiyagarajan has been with the company since 2018, most recently as Senior Vice President and Head of Legal and Ethics. He previously served as Director of Compliance and Data Privacy at Carlson Wagonlit Travel and Legal Counsel at Manulife.

In his new role, Thiyagarajan will head the Government Relations function across PACS and the Prudential Group in Singapore, while working closely with stakeholders and engaging with key government officials.

Commenting on his appointment, Thiyagarajan said, “In today’s complex business environment, insurers have to work closely with government bodies and regulators to shape outcomes that advocate for the industry, customers and partners alike. I look forward to strengthening our government relations capabilities, engaging with key policy-making bodies in a concerted manner, and shaping the future of insurance together.”
