Consilium has announced the opening of a new office in Singapore, subject to regulatory approval, while naming Rob Drysdale as CEO of Consilium Cedant Fac Asia to lead its expansion across the region.
The announcement forms part of a broader global expansion of the broker’s Cedant Facultative Risk Solutions team, which also includes senior appointments in London.
Consilium says the Singapore office will give cedants and brokers in the region direct access to both the London and Singapore markets, allowing for more flexible and tailored placement support. It will act as a regional hub for facultative reinsurance solutions across Property, Power, and Energy classes, the business added.
Drysdale joins from Descartes, where he was Head of Southeast Asia. He brings nearly 20 years of experience in facultative reinsurance across the region.
Prior to joining Descartes, he held leadership roles in various firms, including as Divisional Director at Howden Specialty and as Divisional Director, Global Fac Asia, at Willis Towers Watson.
Commenting on Drysdale’s appointment, Simon Richardson of Consilium said, “Singapore has always been part of our strategic vision – but we’ve waited for the right leadership to make it happen. Rob… brings specialist knowledge and relationships across key geographies and classes that will help us redefine what clients worldwide can expect from a reinsurance broker.”
In addition to Drysdale, Consilium announced the London-based appointments of Paul Hargis and Clare Payne, who join as Senior Partner and Partner, respectively, in the Cedant Facultative Risk Solutions team.
