Phil Joubert has been named Managing Director and Head of APAC Insurance Solutions at Oaktree, the company announced on 4 August.
Joubert brings over 25 years of experience in the insurance and investment industries. He joins from AIA Group, where he has worked for over 8 years, most recently as Head of Investment Consulting. There, he led initiatives in asset and liability management, investment strategy, and expansion into asset classes such as high yield bonds and private credit. His earlier career also includeed roles at Oliver Wyman, EY, Natixis, Deutsche Bank, and Deloitte.
Based in Hong Kong, Joubert will report to Greg Halagan, Managing Director and Global Head of Insurance Solutions. In his new role, he will be responsible for developing and leading Oaktree’s insurance client segment in Asia Pacific.
