India’s Zurich Kotak General Insurance has tapped SBI General’s Sukesh Shetty as its Chief Operating Officer, the insurer announced on LinkedIn on Thursday, 14 August.
Shetty moves from SBI General Insurance, where he spent over 15 years, most recently as COO.
He brings over two decades of experience to Zurich Kotak, with operations and technology expertise, having held roles in HDFC ERGO General Insurance, ICICI Lombard, and ICICI Infotech.
“Under his leadership, Zurich Kotak aims to create a seamless leg of operational excellence and customer service,” the company stated.
The insurer has been making key moves in recent months. Prior to Shetty’s appointment, Zurich Kotak announced the launch of its Commercial Insurance division in June, appointing Ranjit Bhargava as Head of Distribution, Commercial Insurance and Sumit Gupta as Executive Vice President for Distribution, Commercial Insurance.
