Zurich Kotak eyes commercial insurance expansion with two key appointments

Insurer appoints Ranjit Bhargava as Head of Distribution and Sumit Gupta as EVP for Distribution.

Zurich Kotak General Insurance Company is targeting growth in the commercial insurance segment, announcing the appointment of two senior executives: Ranjit Bhargava as Head of Distribution, Commercial and Sumit Gupta as Executive Vice President for Distribution, Commercial.

Bhargava brings over three decades of experience in corporate sales and managing the broking channel. He joins after nearly two decades with Reliance General Insurance, where he held various senior roles, most recently as Business Head for Corporate Sales.

Gupta joins from Swiss Re India, where he served as Vice President since January 2024. With over 20 years of industry experience, his previous roles include Product Head – Life Insurance at GE Capital Services, and Deputy Manager at Axis Bank.

The joint venture between Zurich Insurance Group and Kotak Mahindra Bank has unveiled several key appointments, including Sutikshan Mishra as Senior Vice President and Head of FIG; Alok Kumar Agarwal as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer; Shailendra Sharma as Senior Vice President – Head of RUSO (State Insurance Plan) and Orissa Business; and Nimesh Jayanti Kanabar as Chief Risk Officer.
