Willis has appointed Vijay Nair as Head of Tax Insurance for Asia Pacific, a newly created role effective November.
Based in Singapore, Nair joins from Aon, where he spent more than four years and most recently served as Director for Tax & Transaction Solutions in Asia. He will be part of Willis’ Mergers & Acquisitions business within the FINEX (Financial, Professional and Executive Risks) division.
Nair has more than 12 years of experience in tax insurance and corporate tax advisory. Prior to Aon, he spent nearly a decade with PwC, specialising in corporate tax, M&A tax, transfer pricing and financial services tax, working with insurers, reinsurers, asset managers and multinational corporations.
According to Willis, the creation of the new role reflects growing demand for tax liability insurance across the region, with the firm reporting a 50% year-on-year increase in submissions in Asia Pacific this year.
Commenting on the appointment, Namit Mahajan, Head of FINEX Asia, noted: “Vijay’s expertise and leadership will further strengthen our capabilities as clients navigate changing legal and regulatory environments across the region.”
The appointment follows another recent leadership move at the firm. Last month, Willis also named Ollie Moore as Head of Broking for the Pacific region.
