Alexander Bland has joined QBE Asia as Regional Specialty Claims Head, effective 3 June 2024, the insurer announced in a company statement on LinkedIn.
In his new role, Singapore-based Bland will report to Vick Rajaswaran, QBE’s Regional Head of Claims. He will be responsible for shaping and executing QBE Asia’s specialty claims strategy, QBE said in its announcement, with a focus on customer advocacy, fostering partner relationships, and overseeing regional claims performance.
Bland joins QBE Asia from specialty insurer Thomas Miller, where he spent nearly five years. He brings with him over twelve years of industry experience in a career which includes roles at MS Amlin and practice as a UK-qualified lawyer at international law firms DWF and Hill Dickinson. His expertise covers marine and non-marine insurance disputes, shipping casualties, cargo, and liability claims.
