Allianz Australia has named Julie Mitchell as Chief General Manager of Commercial and Anna Stavropoulos as the Chief People and Culture Officer, effective 1 April, the business announced in a statement on LinkedIn.

Mitchell has spent 25 years with Allianz, including serving as Chief General Manager, Personal Injury for the last six years. She succeeds Phuong Ly, who is relocating to take on the role of Managing Director for Allianz Commercial UK, effective 3 April.

Stavropoulos brings over 20 years of HR leadership experience in the financial services industry. Since joining Allianz five years ago, she has led the business’s strategies in employee wellbeing, talent acquisition, and learning and development, the insurer said.

As a result of Mitchell’s appointment, Mark Pittman will take on the role of Acting Chief General Manager, Personal Injury.
