Allianz Commercial on Wednesday announced the appointment of Davinder Panesar as alternative risk transfer (ART) business development and underwriting leader for Asia Pacific, effective 1 September 2026.
Currently based in London with the business, Panesar will relocate to Singapore to take on the new role. He brings more than 10 years’ experience in underwriting, executing and managing large international ART programmes.
Panesar began his career at the business in 2008, underwriting property and casualty business in the UK before moving into marine cargo underwriting. In 2012, he transitioned to the ART line of business, spending time in both the London and New York offices, where he managed captive fronting transactions and underwrote structured solutions.

The appointment follows a series of key leadership announcements at Allianz Commercial in Asia Pacific this month, including the promotion of Jenny Wilhelm to the newly created role of managing director, Singapore, effective August, with William Slade succeeding her as regional head of distribution for the region. Also in July, Awa Ketty-Camara was promoted to regional head of multinational for Asia, having previously served as head of multinational for Singapore, Korea and India.
