Allianz has announced a leadership transition in Thailand, appointing Lars Heibutzki and Sanghun Park to leadership roles ahead of the retirement of Thailand country manager and CEO Tom Wilson at the end of 2026.

Wilson is retiring after nearly two decades with the company, although he will remain associated with the group through board roles. He is also expected to join the board of Allianz Taiwan Life, subject to regulatory approval.

Heibutzki was appointed deputy country manager on 14 August and will assume the roles of country manager and CEO of Allianz Ayudhya Assurance and Allianz Ayudhya Capital on 1 January 2027, subject to regulatory approval.

Before moving to Thailand, Heibutzki served in regional leadership roles in Asia-Pacific and previously held positions at Allianz Italy and Allianz SE, where he worked on transformation and business development initiatives.

With Heibutzki set to assume broader responsibilities, Allianz has also appointed Sanghun Park to succeed him at Allianz Ayudhya General Insurance. Park will join Allianz Ayudhya General Insurance as deputy CEO on 1 October 2026, before becoming CEO on 1 January 2027, subject to regulatory approval.

Park has more than 20 years of insurance and reinsurance experience across Asia and Europe, including nearly 15 years within Allianz. His career has spanned underwriting, portfolio management, reinsurance and market-facing roles. Most recently, he served as global head of retrocession at Allianz Re.

The new appointments follow a parallel leadership transition at Allianz Trade, where Scott Munafò is joining as chief executive officer for China, effective September 1, 2026, amid a wider management reshuffle across Asia-Pacific.
