Allianz trade promotes james lie to regional head of e commerce for asia pacific

Allianz Trade has appointed James Lie as Regional Head of E-Commerce for Asia Pacific, effective from 1 April 2024, according to a company announcement.

Lie has over 15 years of trade credit insurance experience and joined Allianz Trade in 2018 as Country Manager for Indonesia. In line with his new role, he will relocate to Singapore to lead the insurer’s e-commerce strategy across the APAC region.

In a company announcement, Allianz said Lie has significantly contributed to the growth of the company’s portfolio in Indonesia, including the development of strategic partnerships with local businesses.

On the new appointment, Shan Aboo, Regional Commercial Director at Allianz Trade in Asia Pacific, commented, “We are thrilled to have James heading e-commerce for the region. The potential of B2B e-commerce in Asia Pacific is immense, and as the world’s leader in trade credit insurance, we are poised to lead this industry growth with our e-commerce and Buy-Now-Pay-Later (BNPL) solutions.”

Lie also commented on his new position, expressing enthusiasm for the new role. “I am deeply honoured and excited for this appointment. It represents a tremendous opportunity to drive innovation, foster strategic partnerships, enhance customer experience, and capitalize on the immense growth potential of the e-commerce sector in this dynamic region,” Lie said.
