Allianz Trade has promoted Sandy Liu to regional head of China desk, the company announced on LinkedIn over the weekend.
Liu began her insurance industry career with the German insurer — she joined as a management trainee in June 2006 and has since climbed the corporate ladder, holding various leadership positions across Allianz China and Allianz Trade.
Prior to her promotion, she was head of distribution for Hong Kong for more than four years. “Not only did she help diversify sales channels, but she also secured a range of Chinese corporate accounts,” Allianz Trade said.
“I am truly honoured to take on this role, and to continue to empower Chinese enterprises as they expand overseas,” Liu commented on her appointment.
Liu’s promotion follows Wee Lee Quah’s elevation to Allianz Trade’s regional chief operations officer for Asia-Pacific, effective 1 January 2026, announced by the business in mid-December 2025.
