Aon has appointed Penny Chua as head of marine claims advocacy, Asia, according to a LinkedIn post from Clarence Ting, global claims leader for construction & infrastructure.

Chua moves after seven years with Liberty Specialty Markets, where she worked as Asia claims manager for the marine segment.

She brings more than 18 years of specialised experience in marine insurance, including marine cargo, liability, hull & machinery, and offshore energy, with previous roles at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty and RSA.

Chua’s appointment comes amid a broader set of leadership movements at Aon in Asia this month. Last week, Aon appointed Neelay Patel as CEO of Malaysia, effective March this year, shifting him from his prior regional growth role; Kulshaan Singh was named enterprise client leader for Asia Pacific; and in India, Avishek B. Rath was appointed head of growth for facultative reinsurance while Neha Shah was promoted to head of life and health reinsurance.
